About The Chapel

Honoring the Legacy of Rev. George L. Fox

At the Reverend George L. Fox Memorial Chapel in Gilman, Vermont, we proudly serve as a lasting tribute to Reverend George L. Fox, a man of deep faith, boundless courage, and selfless service. More than just a historical site, our chapel is a living legacy that honors his heroic actions and enduring impact on past, present, and future generations.

As a non-denominational house of worship and Fox family museum, the chapel welcomes all who seek reflection, unity, and inspiration. Our mission is to preserve and share the remarkable story of Rev. Fox—one of the Four Chaplains aboard the USAT Dorchester, who gave his life so others might live during WWII. With arms linked in prayer, he and his fellow chaplains sacrificed their life jackets, embodying the highest ideals of faith and humanity.

The Rev. George L. Fox Memorial is both a sacred sanctuary and an active center for remembrance. Throughout the year, we host meaningful community events, memorial services, and educational gatherings to raise awareness, bring people together, and keep Rev. Fox’s story alive.

Maintaining and restoring this historic site takes ongoing care—and we rely on the generous support of individuals like you. Your donations help fund critical preservation efforts and allow us to continue sharing this powerful legacy with the world. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps keep the spirit of Rev. Fox alive.

Can’t attend an event or donate? You can still support our mission by simply sharing his story. Spread the word about Rev. Fox Memorial Chapel through social media, email, or conversations with friends and family. Together, we can ensure his message of courage, compassion, and faith reaches hearts far and wide.

The Rev. George L. Fox Memorial Chapel is more than a tribute—it’s a reminder of the extraordinary strength of selfless love. We invite you to join us in honoring this true American hero.
